HISTORY OF HOWLADAR YUNUS & CO.

On May 30, 1970, N.M. Howladar and M. Yunus joined forces and established Howladar Yunus & Co. Initially; they operated from an office at 67 Motijheel Commercial Area for a few months. Following the liberation war, they relocated the office to 67 Dilkusha Commercial Area, which marked the start of the actual journey of Howladar Yunus & Co.

N.M HOWLADAR

Noor Mohammad Howladar was born on March 1, 1930, in Barishal. He studied at Dhaka University and joined A.C. Roy & Co, Chartered Accountants as an articled student shortly after. He became a Chartered Accountant in 1956 and worked as the Chief Accountant for the Business and Industry Development Corporation (BIDC) at Rangpur Sugar Mill for four years. In 1961, he established N.M. Howladar & Co at his home address, which was 7 Bonogram Road, Dacca 1, and later moved his office to the 6 Motijheel Commercial Area.

N.M. Howladar was the 14th member to enroll in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh. N.M. Howladar passed away on April 27, 2016.

M. Yunus was born on May 14, 1938, in Comilla. He graduated from Jagannath College in 1957 and immediately began working as an articled student at Basu Banerjee & Co., Chartered Accountants, in 1958. In 1963, he became a qualified Chartered Accountant and started his own practice as a public accountant under the name M. Yunus & Co at his residence, located at 3 Ranking Street, Dacca 1. His enrollment number was 20. After a few years, he moved his office to 11 Motijheel Commercial Area.

 

M. Yunus was the 20th member to enroll in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh. M. Yunus passed away on December 30, 2008.
